Unicycling is getting a little easier
In the last issue of the Chronicle, I wrote about how I got a unicycle and how it is very hard to ride. I'm happy to say that I can now ride it with ease and it is very fun.
I thought it would take a lot longer to learn how to ride it. As I said last time, at first I assumed it would be really easy for me, but the videos I saw on the Internet made it sound like it would take months to master. Well, here I am, Day 26, and I am able to ride fairly long distances without stopping.
The transformation has been amazing. I can remember when my goal was to go only a few feet without falling, and now it's to go a few hundred feet. I also can recall only being able to ride my unicycle by holding onto a wall. These days, I only need a wall to start me.
I still need a whole lot of improvement. I would like to be able to do a U-turn. As of right now I have only been successful twice. Additionally, nowadays I just hold onto the mailbox and then push off. The only thing is, when I fall after riding a long ways, I have to walk all the way back to the mailbox (it wouldn't be right to use someone else's mailbox, so I have to use my own). I am hoping that soon I will be able to start from anywhere.
I have named my unicycle Eunice. I think you can tell where I got that name! I am looking forward to when I'll be able to completely use Eunice like a bicycle and ride all over the place.
