This writer stands up for a clean environment
When I was given an assignment in fifth-grade to write a speech on any topic that I would have to present to the class, some kids laughed at me when I chose the topic "Saving the Environment." I put lots of information in it and presented it well. The reason I chose the environment was because humans have been letting it go for the past several years, and we need to get it back.
I have done an article before on a similar topic, recycling. But this article is mainly on saving the environment, not just recycling.
One event that's coming up where you can do something about the environment is the Coastal Cleanup. It's all around the world, but the closest place around here is at the St. Marks Wildlife Refuge. It will be held on Sept. 20 and anybody who comes back to the visitor center afterwards will receive a free T-shirt and lunch.
But you don't have to participate in events such as the coastal cleanup to be active in the environment; you can also do stuff at your own home. You can recycle bottles, soda cans, and more. If you can't recycle, just make sure you don't litter.
By now you probably think I'm an environment maniac. I think that everyone should be. Are you one?
