Mirror Maze
There are so many kinds of mazes out there; paper mazes, labyrinths, and many more, including one of the hardest, mirror mazes. Mirror mazes are big labyrinths that look like they go on forever. Just recently, I went through one and had one of the scariest times of my life (okay, not really).
The maze was something like 2400 square feet and had so many mirrors I almost thought I could run for miles. That's the one thing that makes this kind of maze so hard illusion.
The first time through it was kind of fun. I enjoyed accidentally running into mirrors and having a good little laugh with myself. The second time through it was a little bit easier because I already knew the maze and I got out quickly. But I was allowed one more time, and that's where I messed up.
I guess I thought the third time would be very easy since I've already been through it twice, but that was precisely what messed me up. I kept on walking around the same area and couldn't seem to find the exit. To make things worse, there was some weird nerd that kept following me and bumping into me. (If you didn't get that joke, I was talking about my reflection.)
Eventually I realized the exit was right in front of me. I quickly walked to it, but all of a sudden there was a “bong” followed by a headache. I then realized it was a mirror and I should be headed in the opposite direction. By this time about 10 minutes had passed since I had entered and one of the workers at the maze walked out from nowhere and said, “You okay?” I answered yes, then walked over to the place where I thought the exit was. Bong! Nope, that's a mirror. Bong! Nope, that's another mirror. I kept on bonging into myself until I saw something I thought I'd never see again: the curtain that was the exit! I ran up to it, thinking there would be another bong, but thankfully, it was soft, and pretty soon there was light and a bunch of people looking at me.
Even though I nearly scared my eyes out, it was a great thrill to walk through that maze. Where can you go through these mazes? There are only five locations of this specific type in the world. The one I went to is the closest one over in Panama City Beach. These mazes are fun and scary!
