Harlem Globetrotters hit Tallahassee
The world-famous Harlem Globetrotters basketball team was in town and played the New York Nationals on February 28.
The well-known team is known for doing laugh-forcing moves. Sometimes one of them would throw the ball toward the basket and another would instantly jump up and force the ball in the hoop. One time, one of the players even passed the ball to the referee, and he passed it back to another player.
Every 10 or so minutes, they would stop for a little while to get people in the audience to come up and do little games. Or the Harlem Globetrotters mascot, Globie, would come out and do dancing or something else to entertain the audience while the teams rested or stretched.
In the end, the Harlem Globetrotters had 67 points and the New York Nationals had 57.
At every game, the Globetrotters face the New York Nationals. The New York Nationals have only won one game against the Globetrotters ever!
The Harlem Globetrotters were founded all the way back in 1927. By the early 1950s, they were the most popular sports franchise in the world.
The Harlem Globetrotters trot around the globe, and so that's why they have that name.
Well, I must go. I need to go practice shooting hoops!
