Fourth graders' field trip takes them to Governor's Mansion

On Friday, Dec. 8, I went to the Governor's Mansion on a class field trip. When we first walked in, we saw this gigantic gingerbread house of the mansion.

As we went on, we saw many valuable things in the state dining room. There was a big chandelier. There were also many silver pieces such as a big punch bowl and some nice cups.

Then we went to the guest bedroom. It had this big piece of furniture, and right above it was an original painting of Andrew Jackson.

As we headed on, we went into the living room. It had lots of antiques, furniture and more. The tour guide said it was the biggest room in the mansion.

As we continued on the tour, we walked into the library. It had lots of shelves with books. It also had a TV that can play slide shows and other things that normally you could do on the computer. The governor's desk was also here.

Next they showed us a desk that had cabinets in which a long time ago you would keep all your books.

The next room was a sunroom. It was for refreshments at parties. Also, it had little portraits of all the first ladies. They reminded us that there wouldn't be another portrait for four or eight years because Charlie Crist is not married.

After this, we went outside and looked at a manatee fountain. Then we marched over to the bus and went back to school.
