Download the next generation of Microsoft Office

This past Christmas I was hoping to get Microsoft Office 2007 for my computer. I've used it on my parents' computer, but the disc they used to install it on isn't available to install on my computer. Unfortunately, a brand new disc wasn't under my tree this Christmas, but as I found out later, that was actually a good thing.

I realized that I would have to save up my money if I wanted Microsoft 2007, and I also knew that by the time I get the money, the next version might already be available. I did a little research to find out when exactly it will come out. That's when I found out that it's called Office 2010, or Office 14. The next thing I discovered delighted me.

Microsoft is letting people download Office 2010 for free. I'm not sure why, probably to get feedback or something like that. So I downloaded the whole suite and I'm very pleased. They call it Microsoft Office 2010 Beta.

It includes Word, PowerPoint, Excel and probably about five other types of Microsoft software. They are very similar to the 2007 ones. And there are only a few changes. Most would say they were good changes. PowerPoint also has some new design templates and transitions. Overall, I think it was a really good download considering that it was free and gave me the successor to Office 2007.

To download it, you can just go to www.microsoft.com/office/2010. You have to have a Windows Live ID. That is free and all you have to do is have an e-mail address. If you are planning on getting Office 2010, I would get it now before it costs hundreds of dollars when it comes out later this year.
